Comparing Gun Control Laws in Kentucky, USA and Germany...
ââ¬Å"Our love is to possess arms, though they hope never to have occasion for them.â⬠Since this quote that Thomas Jefferson once said, guns and their capabilities have changed history throughout the world and have affected all most everyone living in todayââ¬â¢s society. Gun control and gun polices have created an upheaval among a growing amount of nations. With increasing gun rate crime and the ease of accessibility to obtain firearms in some places in the world, states inside America and countries around the world have altered its stance on gun control and their laws. From strong gun control and strict trafficking in Germany, too little to very light restrictions and laws on firearms in Kentucky, guns, either way, are a controversial issue thatâ⬠¦show more contentâ⬠¦In Germany, only licensed gun owners may acquire, posses, transfer, or use any type of firearms or ammunition inside the country. To obtain a firearm, one must prove just cause to actually need one. W ith these laws it is understandable why Germany has one of the least amounts of firearm homicides with a percentage rate of 0.23 per one hundred thousand people. With these strict laws regarding firearms, Germany has the most beneficial gun laws to protect its citizens between the two. While not completely eliminating all guns and firearms, the polices that Germany does have makes obtaining more lethal weapons, such as automatic guns, harder to obtain. Evan only certain types of firearms can be allowed inside the country. Automatic, assault, and machine guns are strictly not permitted for sale, distribution, and use. By outlawing these types of deadly firearms, it removes the possibility for criminalââ¬â¢s intentions or harmful acts using these deadly weapons. Guns or firearms used in any type of private sales are strictly illegal in Germany. To be able to sell any type of gun or firearm, one must have a valid gun dealer license. This law makes trafficking weapons across the cou nty less frequent, which in turn can lead to fewer guns in the hands of criminals. Also, the only way to obtain a firearm in Germany is to pass an extensive criminal and mental background check.
